Those popular Halloween trains are back on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, including the specially scheduled Friday and Saturday evening trains at 7 P.M. and 8:30 P.M. on October 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 31 , AND November 1, &2. Advanced tickets purchases are strongly recommended.

| April 17, 2004: Toledo, Lake Erie and Western Railway Present William Linebaugh receives Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ohio Rail Tourism Association. | |||||||||
TLEW volunteer and president William Linebaugh received top awards and honors when the Ohio Rail Tourism Association presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to him on April 17, 2004. The award was further recognized at the May 13, 2004 Ohio Rail Development Commission’s meeting in Columbus, Ohio where the ORDC Chairmen Mr. James E. Betts and Executive Director Jim Seney officially presented the ORTA 2003 Lifetime Achievement award to Mr. Linebaugh.

TLEW teams up with restoration experts in the Toledo Sherwin-Williams paint store on Central Avenue to insure accurate restoration of the 125 year-old Waterville Railroad Depot located in Waterville, Ohio.

Governor Bob Taft recently launched the "What I Learned This Summer," summer essay contest, kicking off the third year of the Great Ohio Adventures in Learning Program (GOAL). The Toledo, Lake Erie and Western Railway & Museum is participating in the contest, designed to challenge students in grades 1-8 to make the most of their summer vacations by visiting educational travel destinations in Ohio. | June 22-24, 2001: TLEW Member Beth Meyer Takes the Gold at this years Special Olympics State Sumer Games | |||||||||
TLEW member Beth Meyer walked away from this years Special Olympics with more gold metals. This year she took the gold in the 4 x 50 relay, 50-meter freestyle, and the 50-meter Breaststroke. She also completed an exhibition in Diving. Earlier this year she received the gold in Alpine down hill skiing. Beth also brings that same Olympic spirit to our TLEW team. Full Story |
